Horizons for Homeless Children
THE CHARITY CIRCUIT: Members of the local sports elite showed up to support Horizons for Homeless Children during its fourth annual Celebrity Circuit Challengethis past weekend. The nonprofit teamed up with NBC Sports Boston and EverybodyFights to host this year’s event, which had the New England athletes helping participants compete in a circuit-training workout at the boxing gym’s Seaport location on Sunday. Among the big names who served as coaches for the 11 teams present: Celticsstars Aron Baynes and Robert Williams; ex-Patriots Troy Brown and Jermaine Wiggins; New England Revolution players Scott Caldwell and Matt Turner, as well as their former teammate Charlie Davies; Boston Cannons defenseman James Fahey III; two-time World Marathon Challenge champ Becca Pizzi and WNBA forward Morgan Tuck. The sweat fest managed to raise more than $50,000 for the Massachusetts charity, which aims to improve the lives of homeless children throughout the state through education, play and support services.
